Who hasn’t experienced acne at some point in their lives? Many people have gone through this skin disorder during their teenage years and some even till adulthood. Acne does not spare anyone independent of race, culture and skin color. Acne is a broad term used to describe several imperfections of the skin like pimples, pustules, nodules, scars, blackheads and whiteheads amongst others. The most common is pimples or zits.
To treat pimples, you must first understand how they are formed in the first place. In teenagers, pimples usually pop out due to hormonal imbalance in their bodies when they reach puberty. For males, the hormone androgen is produced in greater amount and for females, it’s the hormone estrogen which is produced in greater amount. When the balance of the hormones is disturbed, the skin oil glands also known as the sebaceous glands tend to produce more oil. As a result, the skin pores get clogged with oil and invite impurities and bacteria inside. This is how the formation of pimples is triggered.
While hormonal change is one of the reasons for acne breakouts and this is a natural process of growing up, poor diet is also to blame. Young people tend to eat a lot of junk food including french fries, greasy and oily foods and lots of fast food. An unhealthy nutrition is also responsible for acne proliferation. Whatever the causes of pimples, there are some natural remedies which can be applied to soothe this skin disorder. Here am talking about homemade cure for pimples which can be found on your kitchen shelf.
One of these natural remedies which I can vouch for its amazing effectiveness on pimples is green tea simply because I’ve used it before for my acne problems and with time, my pimples started to vanish gradually. I was pretty stunned. You can use green tea in two ways. If you can combine both options at the same time, you’ll see even faster results.
First option is to drink a cup of green tea every day to flush out toxins and impurities from the body. Green tea also contains powerful antioxidant properties like the salubrious polyphenols particularly catechins. Antioxidants are beneficial for skin ailments like acne, this is why drinking green tea every day can cure acne.
Second option is to apply the tea itself directly to your skin. Just make some hot tea, let it cool down a bit till warm and by using a clean towel, soak it into the tea and just tap onto your skin where you have pimples. Do this every day for 3-4 weeks and each session should last 15-20 minutes. The objective is to dry out your pimples and let them heal over time. During this process, your skin will start getting itchy. This is perfectly normal and it’s a sign that your pimples are getting cured. Try to resist the temptation of scratching your face.
You might want to apply some moisturizer to prevent your skin from too drying out. Using jojoba oil is a good option as the jojoba oil acne treatment has been proven to be effective not only as a moisturizer but also against acne blemishes due to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Using green tea as a homemade cure for pimples won’t produce miracles to your skin and get rid of your pimples overnight. Patience and consistency are crucial if you want to see some promising results. But you got nothing to lose to try this natural remedy and it’s totally safe.
